This knife has a VG10 steel core with Damascus cladding.
VG10 is a one of the best stainless steels used by the Japanese craftsmen (Ginsan being the best in my opinion).
The core and cladding are both very corrosion resistant able to withstand almost all types of kitchens and jobs required.
This knife has a beautiful Tsuchime (hammered) finish to the knife. This helps to provide food release.
The handle is a western style handle that provides the extra weight that some people dislike about Japaneses style handles.
