Teruyasu Fujiwara is a 4th generation blacksmith from Tokyo who makes these knives using the same manufacturing methodology of a Katana (Japanese swords).
Master Fujiwara Teruyasu is known as the creator of San Mai, a 3-layer steel fabrication with the outside layers protecting the prized core steel.
This has become a popular method for manufacturing Japanese kitchen knives today.
