Mutsumi Hinoura Knives

Mutsumi Hinoura is the son of Sanjo-based blacksmith legend Tsukasa Hinoura and 3rd generation blacksmith specialising in knife forging. The Hinoura's have been making knives in Sanjo for over 100 years! Mutsumi started making knives in 2001 and has reached a high level very quickly and is considered to be amongst Japan’s elite group of highly revered bladesmiths.

The blades are handmade to the highest standard and perform like a dream.
With some of the longest waiting list for Japanese knives his work has proven to be extremely popular, and demand far outstrips his ability to craft.
