Use the included Nagura (included) before/after use.
Only a short soak in water in needed. Do not leave in water for extended periods.
Flatten, clean and allow to air dry in a cool place. Allow to completely dry before storing.
Nagura stone: The Nagura Stone is used to help maintain flatness of the surface.
The Nagura also helps to make a slurry prior to sharpening, which speeds up the sharpening process.
Leigh’s 2 cents:
Massive, high-quality whetstones! Made to sharpen many knives.
The base is attached and does NOT fit into a stone holder (nor do you need one).
Get the sink bridge to match and/or a Atoma flattening plate.
Optional 10,000 grit if you really want to spoil yourself :-)

About Use
Hi, my name is Leigh, and I’m a chef from Newcastle, Australia.
I’ve been cooking professionally for over 20 years in some of Australia’s top restaurants, and I’m currently cooking at The Signal Box in Newcastle.
Over the years (since 2018), I’ve put together a small collection of high-quality Japanese knives and whetstones that I personally recommend. Basically, if I wouldn’t use it in a professional kitchen, I don’t sell it. Read More
