Morihei Whetstone Set Hishiboshi (Hi) Series:
Long have I preached that people should buy a set, and not get a cheap double sided stone.
Whetstone look similar but aren't.
I find cheaper stones are soft, cut slow and have horrible feedback.
Morihei are some of the best synthetic stones money can buy in my opinion.
Offering great cutting power and feedback. The size of the stone ensures they will last an extremely long time.
Up until recently I used my 500 grit for almost every sharpening. (currently trialing a new brand )
Thousands and thousands of knives sharpened, thinned and reprofiled.
These stones should last you a lifetime or years as a professional sharpener.
Long have I had Morihei Whetstones but not offered a set...…..until now.
Example stone progression: #500--> #1000 --> #6000 -->#12000 +/ leather strop.
The Morihei Whetstone, Hishiboshi (Hi) Series is a step up from the Shapton Whetstones in my opinion.
These are high performance synthetic stones have larger dimensions than the Shapton series and are longer lasting.
Regarded as professional stones made to mimic natural stones.
Leigh’s 2 cents: Morihei Whetstones are a step up from the Shapton Whetstones in my opinion. Large dimensions made to last a long time.
If your looking for a set of stones that leave a kasumi finish, look no further.
